Technology can be challenging, so join our enthusiastic BH Tech Team, who will give you a good foundation and the confidence to use your preferred devices (e.g phone, laptop, e-reader) . Our team can also provide you with information on how to use library resources such as Libby (ebooks and audiobooks) and Hoopla (music, video, graphic novels).
Our BH Tech group will be available to assist you with basic tech questions, as well as point you in the right direction for topics we do not handle.
Here are a few examples of the topics we do not cover:
- Diagnosis and Repair of Devices
- Online banking or shopping-related transactions.
- Unsupported devices (such as Kindles).
In short, we can help you make the best of your devices or applications/tools.

We will teach about how 3D printing works, how to prepare a file for 3D printing, and how to use the MakerBot software to produce the best and most efficient 3D printing projects on our MakerBot Replicator+ 3D printers. Some computer knowledge helpful, but not essential. Participants under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian. Registration Required.

Join us for an overview of Libby, an app that allows you to borrow eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines through the Ottawa Public Library.
This session will include how to navigate the app, borrowing and putting books on hold, logging into our partner libraries, and other helpful tips and tricks. This program will be held in the computer lab so that you can follow along on the computer, but feel free to bring your own device if you would prefer.

Areas of technology help will focus on user’s personal account use by initial setting up of the accounts and how use the site:

X (former Twitter)
Pinterest
One hour= One topic
If you want to cover a different topic from the list, Facilitator will need to approve it, as this is a one hour session.
Meeting place: Teen Zone on the 3rd floor.
Please bring your device fully charged (ex. cell phone, tablet, or laptop).
Please provide a phone number we can contact you about your topic.
You can sign up for one session and one waiting list slot per quarter.

Learn how to isolate your subject from the background, and control how much of the image is in sharp focus. You can shoot up close with regular lenses and cell phones, but Lynda will also include a discussion about using dedicated macro lenses. Presented by Lynda Buske from the Ottawa PC Users' Group and the Orleans Photo Club.
