Join Ottawa’s first children's book parade! Dress up as your favourite children's book character, and get ready for a drop-in parade crafting session for all ages with musical performer Luciano Lu from 12:30-1:30 pm. Poster board and crafting supplies provided. The parade begins at 1:30 pm, departing from Sunnyside branch, and ends at Lansdowne’s Horticulture Building for the IBBY Picnic & Parade, a free book celebration featuring Barbara Reid, Nancy Cooper, Jack Wong, Erin Bow, storytelling, book passports, the OPL bookmobile, and more!
IBBY stands for the International Board on Books for Young People. The 40th IBBY World Congress is being held in Ottawa from August 6-9, 2026, at Carleton University.
