    An open Death Café is a non-judgemental discussion about death. The aim is to help adults become more aware of death & grief so they can make the most of their lives. Coffee & tea will be provided. 

    OPL is partnering with the Home Hospice Association (HHA) to offer this program, which will be led by HHA Death Café Facilitator Daniel Gilbeau.

    Planning for your dependant's end of life' experience.

    Do you have a dependant with a disability that would hinder them from making decisions concerning their care at the end of life ? Do you think you may die before your dependant? Would you like to have a say in medical interventions at the end of their lives? Would you like to make sure they would have the care that you would choose if you were with them? Would you like input into their after death service?

    Come and chat with Mar. We'll chat about Guardianship, Recording idiosyncrasies your child may have that your guardian and care staff would need to know, Writing down your wishes for your child for medical interventions, Expressing your desire for your child to die at their home, hospital or hospice and Making burial and funeral arrangements, 

    Mainly, How to talk to your guardian. You need to talk, talk, talk so they know your wishes

    Drop-ins welcome, but registration preferred.

    Please choose one session (afternoon or evening).

    This is an interactive program for children ages 6 to 12 years old, designed to promote cycling as a safe method of transportation in a context they can enjoy. Children are taught the basics of cycling safety in a controlled environment, such as a school yard, parking lot, or basketball court. They become familiar with the importance of helmets, signage, bicycle maintenance, handling, and are able to put their knowledge to the test by driving through a mini main street!

    At the end of the Bike Rodeo, children will bike away with better cycling habits and a familiarity with the rules of the road.

    City of Ottawa Bike Rodeos are offered to schools and community groups free of charge by the City of Ottawa Cycling Education Team in collaboration with Safer Roads Ottawa.

    Registration preferred; drop-ins welcome! Please note that all participants must:

    • Bring their own bike/scooter and helmet, AND
    • Be able to ride their bike/scooter unassisted.

    Ceci est un programme interactif pour enfants de 6 - 12 ans, conçu pour promouvoir le cyclisme comme moyen de transport sécuritaire dans un contexte agréable. Les enfants apprennent les rudiments de la sécurité à vélo dans un environnement contrôlé, par exemple une cour d’école, un parc de stationnement ou un terrain de basket-ball. On leur explique l’importance de porter un casque, les panneaux de signalisation à connaître et des notions d’entretien et de manipulation d’un vélo. Ils peuvent ensuite mettre leurs connaissances en pratique en roulant dans une rue principale miniature !

    À la fin du rodéo à vélo, les enfants auront acquis de meilleures habitudes à vélo et une certaine connaissance du Code de la route.

    Les rodéos à vélo de la Ville d’Ottawa sont offerts gratuitement aux écoles et aux groupes communautaires par l’équipe des programmes de cyclisme de la Ville, en collaboration avec Sécurité des routes Ottawa.

    Inscription préférée; sans rendez-vous, encore bienvenus! Veuillez noter que chaque enfant doit:

    • Apporter leur propre bicyclette/trottinette, ainsi que leur propre casque, ET
    • Être capable de conduire son vélo/trottinette sans assistance

    Presented by Dying With Dignity Canada (Ottawa Chapter), End of Life Options (including MAiD) is a workshop to educate people about the options available to mitigate or end suffering at life's end, including palliative care, treatment options, and Medical Assistance In Dying (MAiD). Workshop includes the current legislation on MAiD, the process for applying in Ontario and explanation of the experience by a loved one.
