KAIROS Blanket Exercise at St-Laurent Branch

In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Ottawa Public Library is offering free sessions of the KAIROS Blanket Exercise

In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Ottawa Public Library is offering three sessions of the KAIROS Blanket Exercise for free to the community. The KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) is an interactive educational learning exercise. Each KBE session takes a minimum of 3 hours.

The Exercise seeks to educate and deepen understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous Peoples through experiential learning. The experience guides participants through key historical events, such as pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization, and resistance. After the Exercise is complete, participants will be invited to discuss and share their experience in a Sharing Circle.
