Library and Archives Canada, in partnership with the Ottawa Public Library, invites you to celebrate Freedom to Read Week 2026. This annual initiative seeks to raise public awareness about issues related to censorship while promoting access to literature and periodicals. It brings together readers, writers, publishers, educational institutions, libraries, bookstores, universities, colleges and various organizations across the country. As part of this week dedicated to the freedom to read, join us for an engaging evening hosted by author and journalist Sébastien Pierroz. During the event, he will discuss freedom to read from the unique perspective of a local writer-journalist.
