Explore the world of freshwater turtles through stories, activities and crafts, and participate in a guided tour of our Turtle Incubator led by Petrie Island Turtle Project volunteers.
In collaboration with the Friends of Petrie Island and the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Ottawa Public Library's Cumberland Branch is hosting the Turtle Incubator Conservation Project this summer! Come learn about our local turtle species, including Painted Turtles, Northern Map Turtles and Snapping Turtles, and discover how the eggs hatched from the incubator give these vulnerable river-dwellers a better chance to survive.
Family program, for ages 4+. Registration required. A parent or caregiver is included in the first child's registration. Please add any additional children as guest registrants.
This program will also be offered on July 24 and Aug 7 at 10:30am and on Aug 12 at 2pm.
