Get a temporary Ottawa Public Library (OPL) card from the comfort of your own home!

You must provide photo identification and proof of Ottawa residence at one of our branches or Bookmobile stops, before accessing online resources.

  • Borrow books, movies, music, games, and museum passes
  • Download eBooks, audiobooks and music
  • Access online resources and databases
  • Register for one of our many programs
  • Free wifi in all of our branches as well as PCs and Chromebooks
  • Free one-on-one consultations with Business, Jobs and Careers and Genealogy Specialists
  • Borrow material from our accessible collections in large print, DAISY format and more
  • We have 33 branches, 2 bookmobiles and kiosks to serve you
  • Use 3D printers, laser cutters, photo, video and audio editing software in our ImagineSpace

Please note: Customers can only have one library account. If you have lost your library card, please visit a branch to have a replacement card issued.
