Join us at Rockcliffe Park Branch every Thursday from 3 July to 21 Aug for a special themed Narnia art, engineering and science pop-up activities linked to The Chronicles of Narnia from C.S. Lewis. This is a self-directed, drop-in program and will run from 3:00PM to 4:30PM.
3 July - Bubble geometry- Science
Create shapes, easy or complex and see them filled with bubble geometric shapes
10 July -Recreate a master- Aubrey Beardsley- Art
Based on Gothic style drawings of Aubrey Beardsley, see if you can draw his Guinevere in Mourning
17 July - Aslan the lion - Art
Using paper, yarn and pencils create a unique lion mask
24 July -Tangrams and Narnia - Geometry
Every created a geometic trangram? Use these geometic shapes and your creativity to make creatures, characters and objects from the world of Narnia.
31 July - Sail away on cork ships - Engineering
- Can you create a cork ship with a personal standard (flag) that floats? We will test your designs and photograph them in our pop-up pool!
7 Aug - Make a castle out of Keva Planks -Engineering
- Test your engineering and building skills to create a great castle
14 Aug - Leaf animals - Art
- Outside you can collect treasure from nature like leaves, seeds and sticks and use part of them to create animals
21 Aug - Zines - Art
- Using magazine images, your own artwork or other materials create your own story zine!
