Riding the Line: A Two-Part Poetry Circle for Readers and Writers
Join Anita Lahey for this two-part poetry workshop. Over two sessions, participants will read and discuss poems by Canadian authors, considering how a well-built poem, making the most of language and form, can light up our senses and illuminate our sense of ourselves in the world. Participants will choose poems to “write back to” with their own verse, using playful means to get inside the workings of the craft.
Led by Anita Lahey, local author and series editor of the Best Canadian Poetry anthology. Her latest books are the poetry collection While Supplies Last (Vehicule Press, spring 2023) and the poetry comic book, The Fire Monster, a collaboration with artist Pauline Conley (Palimpsest Press, spring 2023). Her memoir, The Last Goldfish: A True Tale of Friendship, was an Ottawa Book Awards Finalist.
